This is a short video explaining my method for making instant coffee. Why? this is hardly a piece for the portfolio Ben is it? On the contrary, I am prepared, as I am aware that one of the things I may end up doing at work will be making drinks for people whos work is much more important than mine at the time, also I will need to succumb to the general caffeine binge that will be life, therefore I have mastered the art of the instant coffee. The secrets to success I believe in the realm of homebrewed hot drinks is getting air into the milk and not burning the ingredients which is actually possible, I read it somewhere or saw it in a film or something but the optimum brewing temperature for coffee is about 20 degrees below boiling and without one of those £160 kettles that turns itself off at a predetermined
temperature the best way to achieve this is milk first. Milk first may be controversial to some, regular for most, I ensure that the granules get a start dissolving at low temperatures to avoid lumps and whisk the shit out of it, usually with one of those mini frothers you can get from lakeland but alas I did not have one to hand whilst making the video so a small fork substitues, the idea is to keep the milk light and potentially frothy so as to resemble a more premium product, ie the Costa coffee experience.
